Our Story


Oasis Church secures 9 acres of land at 607 Avalon Rd., moving the church from its longtime location in Pine Hills to Winter Garden.


William and Shiloh Karshima become pastors of Oasis Church and begin transitioning the church into an interdenominational and multi-ethnic church.


Horizon West Church, a campus of First Baptist Orlando, begins meeting at Sunridge Middle School in Winter Garden.


Oasis Church begins significant community impact initiatives, which include partnering with the Peace and Justice Institute to sponsor a series of “RISE” conversations on race, sending a team and resources to McAllen, Texas to serve individuals and families attempting to emigrate to the United States, and launching Go Love Academy.


In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Horizon West Church becomes displaced and begins meeting for Saturday night services at the Oasis Church campus. Pastor William Karshima initiates a conversation with Pastor Chris Ogden about merging the two congregations into one church. The two congregations hold a joint Christmas Eve service later that year.


Oasis Church and Horizon West Church meet together on April 18 for the first joint Sunday morning service of two congregations becoming one church.
