Returning to our First Love

Continuing our “Dear Church” series, Pastor Chris Ogden of Horizon West Church preaches on the letter to the Church of Ephesus written in Revelation 2:1-7. Pastor Ogden tells us that the Church of Ephesus did great works, persevered through persecution, and had strong doctrine; but had forgotten their “first love” Jesus Christ. He explains that it is easy for churches and Christians to fall into this trap, but through remembering the early days of our relationship with Jesus and repenting of our sin, we can return to our first love. “If we, as a church, accomplish every great thing we set out to accomplish, but it is not motivated by a genuine love for God, he will not consider it a success.”
